West Johnston Food Pantry

Welcome to the West Johnston Food Pantry located at the back of the West Johnston High School Campus in Portable #2. We are a student-led food pantry that serves the McGee's and Cleveland Communities in Johnston County, North Carolina.  

Our mission is to offer healthy nutritious food at no cost to residents while simultaneously decreasing food insecurity in our community. 

With the help of numerous partners, we are able to maintain our mission and do our part to support a healthy, sustainable future.

WJ FOOD PANTRY PROCESS 

Every week, patrons are allowed to come into the portables and shop for items. Once patrons enter the portable, a volunteer will greet them and record the family name, then another volunteer will walk with them and direct them to how many of each item they are allowed to take. At our food pantry, we provide fresh fruits and vegetables, bakery items, side dish options, deli products, various types of meats, canned goods, and personal hygiene items. We ask when visiting the food pantry, only one member per family come into the portables to shop because it can often get crowded. If you would prefer not to come into the portables, a volunteer can pack a box and bring it out to your car. New patrons are always welcome, just be sure to inform the greeter.

Distribution: Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 pm
